K.U SPLASH & BASH POOL PARTY

BY EMBUKANE VINCENT LIBOSSO
I
got a text message invite on Friday 13th September 2013; to attend a pool party at The Kenyatta University the following day. Being my first pool party I was all psyched up for this!
It is official; Kenyatta University (K.U) is the most envied university right now in Kenya after they enrolled a 9,000 plus spanking record of new students for the new semester calendar.

Saturday and the gods favored the event and the organizers. The sun was up- the pitch perfect ingredient for any pool party.

“this is just a pool party for students and freshers to come, have fun and just wajibambe as we usher in the new semester;” reckoned one jovial Seraphine Ng’ang’a; who was doing décor for the event.

The event had its share of dramas on the sidelines but it was a well-organized event. The K.U swimming pool arena where the event was based, was jam-packed with fans and enthusiast of K.U FM and online radio Octave Radio; who had teamed up to throw down this water affair party.
Fashion was beach shorts; t-shirt and any beach wear accessory. From swimsuits to bikinis; to biker shorts; the high energy crowd brought their all. Mcee David Nyash kept the crowd happy as the lineup of heavy rotation deejays: Benslic, Terrot, Ritchie and Birb-G kept the crowd on their feet dancing.

Living up to its billing; the 11AM- 7pm; 18 and over party was getting wilder by the hour. The sidelines had great food; drinks; pool-table battles and dancing competitions. Who can forget the water games, speed dating and other competitions that kept the crowd entertained?
After the DJ called it a wrap; partygoers went on to the city and other joints to rave and party hard- ushering in a weekend full of fun.
