#ENTERTAINMENT

P
icture this; 50 days, 50 East Africans- traversing 8 countries with the singular goal of quenching a great Kenyan’s thirst. This is a show modeled on the popular American show; Amazing Race; and was launched on Tuesday at Nairobi’s Serena Gardens.

Tusker Twende Kazi will feature 50 East African citizens racing from Kenya to London in 50 days to take a bottle of Tusker Lager to Kenyan 7s rugby captain Humphrey Kayange; who is based in London where he is studying.

Twenty-five teams from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will journey across various countries of the East Africa through Morocco; France and eventually make their way to London. This will be filmed and broadcasted across East African nations.
The 25 celebrities who will take part in the show were unveiled on Tuesday and include well-known musicians; media personalities, soccer starts; thespians and others.

Fourteen well-known Kenyans from the music and sports fraternity will team up with 14 Kenyans from all walks of life who will be picked to take part in the show aimed at celebrating Kenya’s achievements in the past 50 years.

Tusker Project Fame (#TPF) presenter, Joey Muthengi will host the reality show; set to premiere on February 23, 2014 and run until April 13th.
Working in a relay; the 25 teams will traverse two continents; with only clothes on their backs and will have only to rely on the local communities to help them find their way and complete their assigned task successfully.

And you too can be part of this journey and excitement! Each team will take three to four days for their leg of the race and the four days will be divided onto pairs; each with a celebrity and an “ordinary mwananchi;” selected through the TUSKER.MOBI website where all Kenyans can apply to participate.

Let the journey begin!  “Having a Tusker with my team mates would be good;” Humphrey Kayange noted in an addressed speech to the audience via Skype.
