Tanzania’s controversial star Diamond is a man not short of
controversy. He has been on and off relationships with some of Tanzania’s
hottest ladies; he has been accused of applying makeup on several occasion and
he was at one point rumored to have had one of his luxury car taken away from
him after he failed to pay up.
But at the recently held Kilimanjaro Tanzania music Awards
2014. Rocking a skirt over his skinny jeans;
he pulled a great performance for the night and soon got the social media
talking. The same stunt has been pulled by many western singers including
Kanye.
He went ahead to scoop all the 7
awards he was nominated on including best song for Number one remix
with Davido and best male artist among other awards. Fellow entertainer Wema Sepetu took the grand opportunity to declare that she will be getting married to Diamond soon.
Although winning many accolades; “critics
say despite winning numerous awards at Kilimanjaro Awards , Diamond had also
fallen out of favor with music industry stake holders as he did not acknowledge
people who played a role in shaping his career. "He just thanked the fans
for voting each time and that was all, he should have atleast given props to
his producer and management team" says a source who attended the awards.
This
means coming times might not be easy for Diamond whose music may be struck out
of the schedules by radio presenters in East Africa who reckon Diamond did not
adhere to an artists code of acknwoledging people who had brought him that far.
It is often 'gospel" for artists including in the international to
give shout outs to producers and management teams.” This is
