We attended the third edition of this year’s monthly concerts/parties hosted by Electrafrique at the Simba Saloon last Saturday (March 22nd). As usual, the party animals came out to dance to the carefully selected electronic beats fused in African sounds, by the DJs behind the collective. Another ever-fresh aspect of the show is the fusing of live music mixes and The Beat Parade Band, a live band that plays traditional instruments and percussions. From around 10:00 p.m. the party went on till 5 in the morning and it was very hard to leave the dance floor during these times. April edition is already looking good, if the raving reviews are anything to go by. Good job Electrafrique and Nairobians for embracing this city’s latest cool sound.
