The band that won the hearts of many when they performed on Citizen Tv’s PowerBreakfast show in May, will be dropping their new album on June 7th-when they perform at Live At the Elephant event.

With the hype already there, the band is set to give an electrifying performance too at the event. From our desk, we wish the band all the best and we call on Kenyans to support the band and their music.

“SAY YES” REUNITES DESTINY’S CHILD TRIO

#REUNION

This is sort of big! A kind of a reunion is looming for Destiny’s Child after a song was leaked where Michele has recruited both Beyonce and Kelly Rowland. The trio was also spotted out shooting the video for the song that is set to drop soon.

"We heard all this commotion going on while we were filming," Williams said, "We filmed at somebody's house and they probably got excited and called their cousins and friends and, next thing you know, the whole town was on one street.”

Adding that it was a love/hate situation: “I woke up to the news of the song being leaked and I just hate when that happens because it was an unmastered version. At the same time, I was overwhelmed by the support.”
“I know things happen for a reason. I don't want anyone to think I'm pissed. I'm not,” Williams added.

Produced by British based Nigerian Harmony Samuels (Ariana Grande, Maroon 5), "Say Yes" is an EDM-inspired reimagining of a Nigerian gospel song, "When Jesus Says Yes," and will appear on Williams' upcoming solo effort, Journey To Freedom, which should see release in September.
Check out the leaked video.

KENYAN HIP HOP HAS A NEW SHERIFF: RAMZEY AND HIS NEW VIDEO “MOVIE” IS OUT!

#HIP HOP
As a blogger; I am usually enchanted to get a call from readers saying check this new guy or thing out. So a couple of weeks back I get a call from a pal and she says; “my boy Ramzey Siele is on Ghetto Radio with Wakuu Music familia and Dj Whizzy.  Listen to him and tell me what you think.”
ATL KENYAN-RAPPER RAMZEY

WAKUU MUSIC FAMILIA

So I tune in and the show was one of the best hip hop free styled and flowing show I have ever listened to. These young guys Wakuu and Ramzey basically killed that show. Then I went to their Facebook links and saw the great job these guys have been doing and I must say Kenyan hip hop has new sheriffs.

Ramzey released his debut video yesterday at Club Changes; Westlands. Hosted by Spincycle CEO dj Kaytrixx; the event saw   appearances  made by Kagwe Mungai, Abbas Kubaff, Biko Adema,Savage Warriors, Madtraxx, Mdundo, E-curve, Lon Jon, Phoenix Recordz, Reps. from KTN, Safehouse Records, and many more.  With much talk about this guy Ramzey from the moment they said that he was working alongside Midas Touch and Kagwe Mungai;  the end product would be a must watch; being their first official Kenyan visual release!

Well we bring you the exclusive video and also some behind the scenes- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut0DbO87tCs .

M.O.G RELEASE TOSHEKA MUSIC VIDEO

#MUSIC VIDEO REVIEW

Finally after the success of the audio- “Tosheka”; Men Of God (M.O.G) finally released the video this past week and it has been trending and on heavy rotation on local stations. The video is simple but well scripted. Shot at Kaloleni estate; the video scenes are well balanced and transitioned week.

The artiste’s choice of attire worked well and another interesting aspect is the use of the live “Rasta” band which made the video catchy.
The director’s use of black and white images also redeems the video’s high quality. Well it is hit for me! Check out the behind the scenes.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO

After Fidempa’s nomination in the recently held Kilimanjaro Music Awards; this past week he linked up with Kenya’s dancehall star Proff on a Kenya-Uganda combination to release a dancehall tune dubbed “How we do it.”

It is a change for Proff in terms of investing heavily on videos. The video is well shot with proper lighting and well balanced dressing. The genius behind it-J Blessing!

Shot indoors, the video is of high quality too and the transitions are catchy too. What’s you take?

Anto Neosoul Releases New Music Video- “ADDICTED”

#new music video

Gifted neo-soul singer and a good friend; Anto Neosoul always manages to attract the audiences from the onset of his videos.
His last music video: paid my dues; had its theme revolve around people who do not wish well for others and would try against all odds to see them fail; yet they have paid their dues.

CHESS’ “I'M IN LOVE” MUSIC VIDEO: ONE OF THE MY BEST EVER KENYAN MUSIC VIDEOS

#music video review

SONG: I love you
ARTIST: Chess

I have been meaning to write about this video for quite some time now. It is just one of those love at first sight love songs that gets you into the groove.

The song’s video took over the airwaves and it just gave us a new side of chess- her hard work; fortitude; fervor and love side. I guess this is what pushes this talented and vocally-o-point diva. The amazing video takes different location scenes: gym; pool and garden shoot. The love chemistry can be felt and seen and the message comes out clearly.

The costumes are equally great and complement the scenes. The quality of the video is everything to write home about- the HD edge was a great investment, Chess! Kudos.

As this young diva continues to raise the stature of the local music business; no doubt she will become a force to reckon with. We are watching you Hun!

DADDY OWEN RELEASES “DEFENDER” MUSIC VIDEO

#new music video

SONG : defender
ARTIST: Daddy Owen
The video is set in the cold kaptagat forest in the Rift Valley, and it was shot for a whole night. At some point, rain caught up with the shoot. The video for a song that the audio came out last year is now finally out.

His music, has over the years, been a representation of many years of hard work, fortitude and fervor. This is what has pushed daddy Owen to be where he is today.

This video is a definite chart-topping hit.
