Kenya’s largest cake or lets say the biggest
cake to ever be baked in the country was recently baked by Nairobi based Cake
shop, Cake City. The cake which weighs 5000KG or as NairobiWire described it, (equivalent to the weight of five proboxes) was cut at
Pride Inn Hotel in Westlands on Saturday evening to mark Cake City’s first anniversary.
The piece of art took a total of 7 days to bake it and according to Cake City’s
boss Shaheed Ali Khan, his first aim was to break the 1989 record set in
Alabama, of the world’s largest birthday cake which weighed a whooping 58,000
kg.
“This is a major milestone for us and the
country because no other outlet has done this in the region and my team is
going to pull all the stops to break the world record soon,” He
added.The pieces of the cake were distributed to several childrens’ home.
