DAYSTAR FUN DAY

BY EMBUKANE VINCENT LIBOSSO

I
nside the Oak Place Restaurant, Ridgeways, the Saturday crowd went up in thunderous applause with every single moment of the Daystar Valley Road Campus Fun Day. The theme for the day; all bold and clear- “Fun with the stars.”

There was a decent turnout that the organizers had to allow guys in using their school I.D and not the earlier printed tickets; as they went T.S.O: Totally Sold Out way before the last Saturday event.
“The turnout as you can see has been crazy! We had printed just 350 tickets but as you can see, that was not enough,” said one of the event organizers.

The crowd’s voices rose, engrossed in the games, music and activities at the fun day event. Outside the restaurant, the crowd mixed freely as the buses arriving from valley Road ferrying students dropped them at the main entrance.
Back inside, those who had made in earlier roamed around the garden taking pictures. With great music from the lively deejay; and the event living up to its billing; the day’s events definitely going to be marked, to borrow a phrase, as a date which will live in infamy.

Throughout, the deejay gave a solid retinue of mixes. After the National Anthem that marked the opening of the event; the crowd took to the stage in pomp, color and dance jiggles- what an awe array it was to watch!
From the garden, another crowd took to the kids’ bouncing castle as they jumped in for a fun of “ups and downs”! The goings-on at the pool are saw the water lovers sunbathe and some just enjoying a great swim under the hot sun. What a perfect day it was!
The event saw great performances by some of the talented Gospel student rappers. Their performances were among the best pieces that capped off the day.

However, towards the end of the day, the power went off and this killed the event’s high mood. But once the lights were back, the crowd maintained the high tempo energy, dancing till late.
The place was full of many Daystar clubs’ stands, snacks, food zones, games zones and of course many fun lovers.
All hail Daystar Fun Day!!!!
