LILIAN MULI BULLIED ON TWITTER AFTER INTERVIEW WITH KONSHENS

#overheard

Monday Blues reports: after getting attacked by social media bullies on Twitter over her interview with Jamaican superstar Konshens; celebrated TV beauty queen Lilian Muli is not a happy girl.
The TV anchor became a hot topic over the weekend as the dreaded Kenyans on Twitter (#KOT) started debating on how she had performed during the interview with the visiting singer.
With some going ahead to attack her personality and others talking about her general image, the TV hottie did not take some of those messages kindly. She termed them as insensitive…

And still on Konshens; the dancehall star will not be forgetting his Nairobi visit anytime soon. Not with the attention he got from over-obsessed female fans.
During his thriller concert, girls fought for him with groupies threatening to jump on stage to get a piece of him. Some even went ahead to remove their panties begging to have sex with him. A known socialite even took the effort to drive to the hotel where the singer was staying to have a private moment with him.

The superstar did not disappoint his fans during the Guiness Evolution Party concert that was headlined by local talents among them Wyre, Juacali, Ken Wa Maria, Habida, DJ Joe Mfalme and emcee Kriss Darlin.
With a good turnout at the KICC event, some 31 youths were arrested for mugging and other crimes during and after the performance.

HISTORY MADE AS FOR THE FIRST TIME; LIVERPOOL ARE FAVOURITES TO WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

#EPL/LIGI SOO

As a staunch Liverpool fan; allow me to say this: whether we win this season or not; we remain grateful for one of the best seasons ever. If winning the 2005 epic and historic comeback on the Champions League was massive; then I bet lifting the Premier league cup this season- 2013 to 2014; will be more than memorable.

Why you ask? Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over City this past weekend got British bookmakers reacting to the victory by installing Liverpool as title favorites.
“today is an historic day as Liverpool have never been favorites to win the Premier League title since its formation over 20 years ago,” said a spokesman for William Hill.

Some are terming it a three horse race. Whereas every league features great matches and every season features decisive games; it is rare for them to be both.
If Liverpool are to win their first Premier League championship in 24 years next month; and even if they don’t; they will always have this beautiful specimen of a football match 93-2 win against City) to remember their season by.

And what a season it has been. Never have I seen an enthusiasm in Liverpool fans in Nairobi as I have this season. Team jerseys have been worn proudly and the season followed devotedly. And what a season it promises to be. Having established themselves as league leaders of the Premier League with only four games left to play.
They have beaten their most credible rivals in the title race and now have just four wins between them and a  historical first Premier League title.
What, they might ask, is four games when you have already win ten in a row?

In the emotional post-match huddle that Gerrard convened on the pitch, the Liverpool captain called upon his team-mates to do the same at Norwich on Sunday.
What Gerrard did not mention was the opponent Liverpool face when they next return to Anfield on 27 April. Chelsea’s visit to Anfield is set up perfectly by this result. Gerrard refused to talk up the possibility of Liverpool’s first title since 1990 after leading his side to a 10th successive victory.

“That win means so much, that is such a big result for us,” he said, “but nothing is ours yet. The important thing now is not to get carried away with that result.”
Finally, I am not sure whether I will be safe if I advise our “Red brothers”- the Red Devils’ fans to prepare to hand over the title; nonetheless, please do!

Habida: First Came the Twerk, Now the Single

Published on Wednesday, 16 April 2014 11:57 Written by Linda Kimaru

Habida showed us that she can unleash her freak at the Guiness Evolution Party over the weekend when she twerked it out with her dancers. So hot off the heels of that fresh publicity and while her name is floating about she's dropped a new single called 'I Love You'. The version that we're hearing now is actually a remix by a South African DJ called DJ Sabby who had the singer on his show. He like the track and decided to put his own spin on it which included adding a new rapper called Jovislash and a legend from the group Skwatta Camp, Flabba.

LET US TALK ABOUT KENYAN ROCK MUSIC

#kenyanrocker

2013 was what I can call a sweet year for Kenyan rock. I had the privilege of attending Oktoberfest and seeing the enthusiasm of diehard rockers.
2014 is here with us and already on February, The Claymore Project Band had a rare privilege of appearing on Citizen Television. They treated us to a number of their soon to be released album.
With the year already rolled out; many heroes of the rock scene have made some big decisions. Some have quit; some have put down the strings and sticks to go into production; while yet others have moved from one band to another.

But for me; tracing some highlights of 2013 only gives a glimpse into what lies ahead for the remaining acts.
The Claymore project landed an interview on NTV’S #THE TREND and after released their first single; ‘we are the night’.

Mortal Soul released their debut EP and video of one of their songs- “solace.” LYT’S long awaited EP-“challenge Accepted” was also released. It holds several gallons of brutal metal juice.
Hard rockers, Parking Lot Grass took Kenyan rock into uncharted territory. They became the first Kenyan rock band to play in Europe.

Seeing rock bands get featured on major TV stations such as NTV and Citizen; was massive. #THE TREND; a highly followed evening show, provided that much needed platform to highlight Kenyan rock music- and what followed, fans online tripling.
This is the perfect time for us as writers and media to jump into this rock sensation. Given the flurry of interest the scene is getting both in and outside Kenya, I can only hope my kind words will get me free tickets when our bands start playing at bigger shows like Rift Valley Festival and Blankets and Wine; writes rock head Sam Kiranga for Nation newspaper’s Zuqka.
