LUOS VS. LUHYAS; WHO HAS THE BRAGGING RIGHTS?

#BRAGGING RIGHTS

When Gor Mahia Football Club locks horns with Ingwe; it is never about chasing a piece of inflated leather. The bigger picture is always the reserve for the bragging rights. Well, now, the feud is going international.

The land of Mulembe says forget the hot policeman Linda Okello; we have Vera Sidika and her ample behind is not fake. Our daughters, bred on ingokho and fried insects, smite the sons of Nyanza.

And now the boy who is the talk of town- this cousin of mine, Divock Okoth Origi. The first “Kenyan”, a Luo, who also is a Belgian, to play in the World Cup and even score. At 19, he also became Belgium’s youngest ever World Cup goal scorer- great feat there!
But we the sons of Mulembe also gave you a warrior- Victor Wanyama, the first Kenyan, a Luhya, to play in the English Premier League.

The looming war goes on as Luos claim, “we gave you the first Oscar; the first American Football player and everything ‘first’ is associated with us!”
The battle continues! Take your side…

THE XYZ-SHOW DOES A LINDA OKELLO “TIGHT UP” SKIRT REFIX

#comedy+music

Samantha J’s tight up skirt may be a hit and club banger in Kenya and all over the world, but recently, the song was remixed and refixed to fit into the Linda Okello situation.
Well, Linda Okello is the ‘hot policewoman’ who created buzz on social media recently. Fuelled by a picture of Linda Okello aka shot on hip; a Kiambu police officer whose luscious eye-popping uniform skirt photos on the internet. Her Facebook friend-request hit a maximum after men, some so lustful to contain their libido, trooped to hunt her down.

So the XYZ crew came up with a remix-refix of Jamaica’s Samantha’s tight up skirt song to fit the hot cop on duty scenario. We tried to get the video on YouTube but we couldn’t trace it. Join the debate!

FUNNY PHOTO OF EZEKIEL KEMBOI DEDICATING WIN TO UHURUTO

After winning the 3000 metre steeplechase, Ezekiel Kemboi dedicated his win to President Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto.

''I DEDICATE MY WIN TO PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA & DEPUTY WILLIAM RUTO MY HEROES MY KINGS..."

... were the words printed on Kemboi's white vest.
Kemboi braved the heat, and wore an extra vest, something unusual in athletics.
Some people commenting on social media say the move was unnecessary and tantamount to fawning.

What do you think.... Was Ezekiel Kemboi's move to show open flattery to President Uhuru and DP Ruto, thousands of miles away from home necessary?

NAIROBI’S KING & QUEEN OF DRAMA; SONKO & SHEBESH AT IT AGAIN

#SPOT ON

One of the best political and social issues commentator on radio; Radio Maisha’s Papa Wellington Nyongesa says; “the leaders we choose are a reflection of who we are (the voters)!”   These two were at it again; Nairobi Senator Sonko and Nairobi Women Representative Rachael Shebesh.
After the ignominy of an alleged quarrel at a city hotel; one would have expected them to lie low like an envelope, but did they? Not these two. Social media again has it that they caused a breach of peace at some club in Nairobi. Guns were drawn and shots were fired. How come they are not behind bars? One wonders and pray, what were they fighting over this time?

But these two have not been short of any drama. Just recently Sonko showed how he could wrap the president around his little finger anytime anywhere; when he had the president on speaker phone to address those whose houses were being demolished.

Shebesh and Sonko were also involved in another drama that saw photos leaked allegedly of them in compromising situation. Rumor went around that the two were secret lovebirds and at one point it is said they were not Seeing Eye to eye; before they appeared to say that they had buried the hatchet.
Shebesh was also involved in a slap drama with the Nairobi Governor as Sonko went ahead to fight a winning wall and throw stones.

And did you see what Sonko had on when he went to meet the Chinese officials who came to give us a present?

Or was it fair what he did the day the late Tom Mboya’s son-in-law lost his seat for hours? Him together with a relative of those people who brought us the above present; danced to the “Luwere” tune in celebration, then posted the clip on social media.
As if that wasn’t enough, he went ahead and posted another clip of him harassing a receptionist at a hotel in the UK when he went to show his support to our Hague three.

Did you see his head? Yes, at the back, of course, I can’t be talking about his forehead. A great artist had curved a great sculpture- many thought- only to see the sculpture and claim it’s the Nairobi Senator.
And what of his photoshpped photos? Not the ones he claimed people had him photoshopped with another woman. No, I am talking of the one he had himself photoshopped with Mandela and had the guts to post it on his Facebook page?

So, should we accept him and have that in the past and move on? Noooooo, we are not going to accept and move on, we will take the money when he dishes it out, but we will not allow him to go mad while in power. And while at it; we will also pray for Shebesh.
Satan, I know you are responsible for this, you are boring, you are stupi…..hello? Helloooo? Oops, he just hang up on me! He did not even wait for me to get to the Aromat part! Nkt!

The Man Behind #KenyaImNotATerrorist

#KenyaImNotATerrorist is the controversial campaign and brainchild of Hamza Egal and Muna Ismail. We had a brief chat with Hamza Egal ,a lawyer, father and Kenyan Somali, about the deeper issues that face not just our nation but the continent at large.
Where are you from and where were you born?
I was born in Saudi Arabia to Kenyan Somali parents but raised in the United Kingdom from age 1. Kenya has always been home as we spent every vacation here up until mother’s passing in 1996, when we decided to move back to the country permanently.
Were you personally affected either by the Eastleigh attacks or the Mass detention of Somali’s at Kasarani Stadium?
I was not directly affected by either. But in the aftermath, I did have an unfortunate encounter with the police who knocked on my door late one night when my family was asleep. They very forcefully demanded to conduct a search. I did not protest, for the sake of my family’s safety, but told them they were welcome to enter as guests. They conducted their search and, naturally, found nothing suspicious. Speaking in Swahili, I mentioned to them that we are all brothers here, regardless of ethnicity, and that whatever we do impacts the nation. I asked them to be deeply conscious and not cause harm or pain to innocent people.
Who was your target audience with the campaign and why?
The campaign was aimed at all Kenyans as well as the greater international community. I tend to see myself as an upstanding citizen who will speak out on behalf of those in our nation who are being unfairly treated. I was severely disturbed at all the stories and instances of ill treatment against innocent Kenyan Somali’s and also felt that the Somali community was being poorly represented in international media. This is just the start. It’s going to take many more thorough and open discussions about our differences and complexities before we can learn to respect one another as Kenyans and as Africans.

Java's Milkshake Just Got Better

As far back as 1922, a man named Pop pimped out the already famous milkshake recipe by taking a traditional malted milk and adding a couple of scoops of ice cream. Since then, technological advancement has led to the perfection of the milkshake recipe. Or so we thought. Java have taken the next step in the evolution of milkshakes, and produced something life changing. The much-loved Java Milkshake has evolved and customers are crazy about them.
The new introduction to the time honoured Java Milkshake recipe is their very own home made all natural ice cream. This addition “ensures the shake has less fat content, the texture is thicker and denser due to the fewer air bubbles in the milkshake and best of all – the milkshake is richer and has more flavor,” says General Manager for Java, Naima Hassan.
The ultimate remedy to a hot, sticky and exhausting day, few things are as rewarding as Java Milkshakes. The cool, thick, natural flavours course smoothly down the throat after a long day, taking this summer delight and making it even better with the special recipe that amplifies all the things we love about milkshakes. “And you can have it with anything, anytime; lunch, supper, people love coming in and having a Java milkshake for breakfast,” Naima continues. “The great thing about the Java milkshake is it leaves you satisfied without filling you up too much.”
The new Java ice cream is based on classic Italian Gelato, but is made a bit thicker in the North American Style. Using only fresh and natural ingredients, Java offers their celebrated milkshake in a range of flavours including banana, strawberry, chocolate, espresso, mocha, vanilla, pineapple and mango.

THE COUNTRYMAN (LIQUOR) THAT KILLED MANY COUNTRY MEN

#ILLICIT BREWS

T
his past week; Kenya’s drunken decadence was put on the spotlight for the world to see. How mind- boggling it was to see some 70 adults killed within 24 hours and each day the number rose. They voluntarily administered upon themselves a lethal intoxicant-the Countryman Liquor as it was dubbed; that ended up sending to the graves the many countrymen.

What a disgusting heavy blanket of de ja vu it was.  Scenes of many wallowing and writhing in pain in battered hospital beds, some gone permanently blind and families left in a suffocating disaster. It is simply pathetic and disgusting.

But was this a new incidence secluded on its own? No, and a big no for that matter. Not at all. We have seen it before. It happened six years ago- so it is nothing new. They say we are a peculiar people who are so fast to forget. But I say we do not forget. The graves stand in the witness stand boldly to deny us and argument and for everyone to see. So, too are those who went blind in the previous orgy.

I laughed at the Senior Government people who came out breathing fire and brimstones. They were angry and made sure their press conferences captured that. They stood to ask what their juniors were doing when these adults freely introduced killer substances into their bodies. I laughed because such is the tragedy of a nation in the grip of clueless leaders who address symptoms when they should be getting to the heart of the matter.

We have become a country that fails to ask the right questions. What drives a mature family and country men and women to the extremes of voluntarily rolling in lethal drinks; knowing very well they are lethal?
Watching the TV; one thing you could not fail to notice from the footage was the victims’ tumble down environment. We saw of their subhuman living conditions in the slum- villages.

They exist in the extremes of poverty and social exclusion; on the fringes of society. With nothing to live for; or even die for- these people gave up on life ages ago.
Let me tell you the harsh truth- when a country man has nothing to live for let alone die for; he is a zombie- a waking walking dead.

CAPITAL FM RELEASES NEW “NISHIKE” VIDEO; AS “ATWOLI” RANTS

#NISHIKE GONE WRONG

Kenya’s top showbiz boy’s band Sauti Sol has definitely got everyone talking about their new “Nishike” video. The buzz around the video has been so immense on social media, trending under the hashtag #NISHIKE. Well it seems everyone has their opinion and wants to jump into the popularity of the video.

But a recent video posted on YouTube shows ‘Atwoli” had something to say about the video right after the Labor Day celebrations. The video; of a guy imitating Atwoli of The COTU; rants hard about the video and makes for a funny clip that will leave you laughing hard.

But if you thought that is funny, Capital FM has done a video of the same song under the hashtag #NISIHIKEGONEWRONG. The  video of  a ‘heavy’ guy singing to the song without a shirt while a girl with a huge derriere dances right beside him; goes for a  funny video. It is definitely trending and it is a must watch! Send us your thoughts…

THIKA BLASTS DEVASTATE NAIROBI

Timeline of terror attacks
October 2011- Kenya sends troops to neighboring Somalia to fight the Islamic extremist rebels, Al-Shabaab, The militant group allegedly reacted with vows to carry out terrorist attacks in Kenya.

30th September 2012- The Sunday school of St Polycarp’s church in Nairobi was attacked with grenades. According to newspaper reports, one child was killed. Kenyan police blamed the attack on Al-Shabaab sympathizers.

21st September 2013- Al-Shabaab associated gunmen targeted and shot customers at Nairobi’s Westgate Shopping Mall. Over 80 people were reportedly killed in the attack.

14th March 2014- In the Kenyan city of Mombasa, two terrorists were arrested while driving a car carrying two improvised bombs.

19th March 2014- Kenyan police unintentionally parked a car outside their office that was carrying a massive cache of terrorist explosives, including 130 pounds of plastic.

1st April 2014- In Eastleigh, six people were killed and dozens more injured when terrorists exploded bombs at two separate locations about three hundred meters apart.

23rd April 2014- A car bomb that exploded in Pangani killed four people.

3rd May 2014, In Mombasa a grenade was thrown in a bus in Mombasa leaving four people dead and another 15 wounded. There was a second blast near a beach-front hotel, but no-one was hurt.

4th May 2014- On Thika Highway homemade bombs exploded on two commuter buses, nearly simultaneously and about a kilometer apart. According to the report, at least three people were killed and at least fifty others injured.

In early 1975, the first bombs to strike independent Kenya exploded in central Nairobi. Now 39 years later and Kenya is seeing more blasts than ever before with 4 blasts in a single weekend. Panic gripped the city after two blasts went off on separate buses along the Thika superhighway on Sunday evening. Casualties were transferred from Neema Hospital to Aga Khan, Guru Nanak and Kenyatta National Hospital.
The first explosion was at a Githurai-bound bus near Blue Springs hotel. The second explosion was on a Kasarani-bound bus just as it negotiated the Roysambu underpass. Bomb experts arrived at both scenes though the heavy traffic snarl up delayed the arrival of emergency services.

The government security has been criticized as Kenyans attempt to make sense of a senseless situation. ODM Kenya appealed to the President to start the process of moving out of Somalia, while others demand revenge and more security precautions.
Kenya security forces promise to halt attacks by ‘militant Islamists’ has not been fulfilled despite the arrests of some 2,000 people, mainly ethnic Somalis, in the capital last month. The security sweep has led to tension between the government and the Somali community and has been heavily criticized by human rights groups who accuse the police of profiling Somalis, detaining suspects without trial, denying them representation, extortion, circumventing the courts to deport Somalis back home and holding the suspects in inhumane conditions.

#ThikaRoadBlast is trending on twitter with Kenyans commenting on the blast, criticizing the state of security in Kenya and condolences to all who have been affected. @taurusmusik said It’s time the government did something about the security issue, we cannot afford to lose any more lives #ThikaRoadBlast@teresiayulu appeals to the National Disaster Operations Centre to educate the public on how to react: @NDOCKenya You need to mount a passenger education campaign on what to look out for when they board buses.

One FM’s Radio Presenter Criticizes Sauti Sol’s New Video

After Sauti sol released their new video, not everyone seemed excited about it apart from the ladies. We are not all the same and that’s the reason we think differently. So one popular journalist spoke out about the video and it seems he was not so pleased with it either. But like I said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and looks like Chito from one Fm made good use of it.
This is what he said about the video…
I have just had the opportunity to watch the new Sauti Sol video didn’t have a chance yesterday was engrossed in some stuff and I must say this boys have simply lost the touch of creativity I mean, yes ladies you are all excited about their abs bla bla bla bla but I couldn’t help but notice those screen shots are from Trey Songs, Akon and others. First off the song is wanting and I think they were trying to make up for it in the video, secondly just because the Fantastic 4 went and did you guy with Vera Sidika’s behind it’s not a license to start feeding our lost generation with mild porn..
I personally think Sauti Sol have tremendous talent but on this one they have lost marks they would have done an original video all they have done now is just offer all women nyemelearing material…
Even if they wanted to show off their abs and what not they would have done it in an original Sauti Sol..Dont get me wrong as an artist you have the right to do whatever you want to drive sales but be original while doing it dont go copy paste what you see be creative besides you wrote the song cant you make a video…
wondering what am talking about have a look right here…

‘Atwoli’ Weighs in On Sauti Sol’s Nishike Video

The hullabaloo surrounding local quartet Sauti Sol’s  Nishike video seems to be fueling itself every waking moment. The video is by no chance doing badly. Clocking  almost 230,000 views in 6 days, Sauti Sol must be a happy lot. So are their female fans who just cant resist watching the video “one last time”.
Apparently, there are two sides to the coin that is Nishike. Men are not happy with this development. If  Atwoli’s words are anything to go by,  the the likes of Eric Omondi fled town immediately the video was posted on Youtube  fearing for the worst.
Atwoli took to the nearest camera to air his grievances on the video and he minces no words. He leaves no stone un turned as he drags everyone and their mother into his rant. From Grace Msalame to Kalekye Mumo and Safffie ‘Werunga’ to Nonini.
Have a look at the hilarious video below.
