I’m a big fan of wedges even though I own only three pairs. This is the most worn pair of the three…I love the colour an the design an also the comfort of the wedges.
I got the wedges over a year ago and the pair has become one of my favourite shoes. I’ve worn them numerous times and here are some of the looks.

Which is your favourite look?

Libya's Hala Gezah: 'The Olympics is a dream come true'

LIBYA's HALA GEZAH. Screen grab from YouTube (afptv)

from-http://www.rappler.com

LONDON, United Kingdom - The revolution disrupted her training but Hala Gezah's "childhood dream" of competing in the Olympics came true. She was the only Libyan woman at the 2012 London Games; she competed in the 100 metres.
Last year, the 23-year-old's sessions on a Tripoli track were thrown into disarray by the overthrow of dictator Muammar Gaddafi; now she is posing for pictures with Olympics legend Usain Bolt.
"In 2008 we could practice as normal, but with the revolution it was very difficult. Training was virtually non-existant," said her coach Abdullah Zaho, wearing a top in the red, black and green of Libya's new rulers.
"We were afraid," he told AFP.
"We had lots of problems. Above all, because there was no communication between us and the local federation, and the Libyan Olympic Committee had no money.
"That made our task difficult."
The committee was run by Mohamed Gaddafi, one of the ousted ruler's sons.
Before the London Games, Gezah had taken part in only one race this year, at the biennial African athletics championships in Benin. She did not meet the minimum requirement to reach the 2012 Olympics.
However, the International Olympic Committee's principle of universal participation means every country can enter somebody into athletics and swimming.
On August 3 in the Olympic Stadium, the wildcard finished 5th out of 9 in her heat. She clocked in at 13.24 seconds, the 23rd fastest out of the 33 that took part in the preliminary round.
"I could have done better," she admitted to AFP.
"But I'm honored to be the first female athlete to wear the colors of the new Libyan flag."
Her coach added: "We truly represent Libya as it is now."
Gezah, a computer science student, is one of 4 Libyan athletes competing at the London 2012 Games. The Libyan flag can be seen proudly hanging off balconies in the athletes' village, in the flats just opposite the Basketball Arena.
Taking part in the Olympics means a lot to Gezah, a shy woman who stands 1.69m (5ft 7ins) tall.
Her late father, an amateur footballer, encouraged her throughout her youth. On making it to London, she was deeply moved by the thought that he would have been proud of her.
To give herself the best chance of a competitive performance, Gezah did not observe Ramadan at the start of the Games.
"It's too hard to fast and train at the same time, especially as the summer days are so long here," said Gezah, whose mid-length, jet-black hair frames her face.
But "now my race is over, I'm fasting," she said.
She is also making the most of her free time to do some shopping, buying some giant headphones, make-up and souvenir for her family.
"I've spent the best days of my life here at the Olympics," she said, without hesitation.
"I've had the chance to meet the greatest champions," she said, including Jamaican sprint star Bolt, who defended his 100m and 200m Olympic titles.
Bolt posed for pictures with her in the Olympic Village canteen.
Now she dreams of going to the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
And she made the following pledge.
"I promise the Libyan people that, next time, we will have athletes on the podium." - Beatrice Debut, Agence France-Presse

London 2012: USA push China aside to restore medal dominance

Medals

FROM THE BBC...

China inflicted an early psychological blow at the top of the medals table with teenage swimmer Ye Shiwen's stunning double gold, but the Aquatics Centre has ultimately proved a key venue as the United States have bitten back to dominate the Olympics
Four years ago in Beijing, the Americans, who had previously come first in each Olympics since they boycotted the 1980 Games, were stung when they were knocked off the top of the overall podium by the Chinese.
But despite China winning more gold medals than they have ever managed before on foreign soil, London has seen the United States emphatically restore the established order.
The aftermath of Shiwen's performances laid bare the old rivalry between the two superpowers.
The 16-year-old collected gold with victory in the 200m individual medley after setting a world record on the way to the 400m medley title, with US coach John Leonard to describing the display as "disturbing".
China's legendary basketball player Yao Ming responded by saying: "Ye jumped out to take away the glories that the Americans thought belonged to them for a long time.
"It's not a good feeling, like for us if someone takes away the gold medal from the Chinese on table tennis."
But that was not a sensation the Americans, who went on to collect 16 of the 34 gold medals available in the pool, had to get used to in London.
They may have trailed behind Jamaica's Usain Bolton and Yohan Blake in the showcase sprints but the Americans have - relatively - quietly amassed 29 medals on the track with a haul that includes nine golds.
Symbolically, China's track and field hero Liu Xiang fell before the first barrier in the heats of the men's 110 metre hurdles - an event that saw the US take gold and silver through Aries Merritt and Jason Richardson.
While Xiang now requires surgery on a ruptured Achilles , China's only gold medal in the athletics came with Ding Chen winning the men's 20km walk.
Ye Shiwen
Ye wins 200m individual medley
China traditionally excel in badminton, diving, gymnastics and table tennis and they have picked up 20 of their 38 golds in those disciplines, adding another 10 in the weightlifting and swimming.
But they have fallen well short in their attempt to emulate their achievements of four years ago.
From the conspiratorial to the utterly dour, theories about the medals race vary.
Chinese deputy sports minister, Cai Zhenhua, has reportedly accused judges of discriminating against Chinese athletes.
And United States team spokesman Patrick Sandusky appeared to play down the importance of the medals table when he said: "The Olympic Games is a competition between athletes, not nations. With that said, we are very proud of our American athletes in London."
But Steve Roush, former chief of sports performance of the United States Olympic Committee, feels American dominance on the track has been decisive.
"If there is a surprise, it's just how well the US has done in track and field," he said. "China's big challenge is in swimming and track and field. There are so many medals at stake."

tarrus and etana perform in kenya- what really went down?

http://niaje.com reports:

Organizers Dismiss Tarrus Phone Loss as Etana Almost Backs out Last Minute

Tarrus Riley
Tarrus Riley
Even before he could settle down there were rumors that Jamaican sensation Tarrus Riley had lost his iPhone. The news spread so fast on social media but when Niaje.com reached one of the organizers for a comment we were told it was all a lie.
“Those are just haters trying to spoil the show for us. They even said that both artistes would not show up but now that we have proven them wrong they still want to spoil it for us”, Kriss Darlin, a popular reggae DJ told Niaje .com
Meanwhile, Etana was having a tough time too as she even threatened not to perform “So my representative had hell dealing with this Kenya promoter and I may not be able to perform. Though I’m here. Crazy.Wah dis mi come buck up pan inna Kenya. Ever feel like your hands tied? Women always fight extra hard”, read one of her tweets.
She however had a change of heart an hour later and agreed to perform only because she had come this far and did not want to disappoint her fans “I won’t disappoint my fans though, come too far and been ready too long! Kenya weh yuh say!”

This is KENYA: Problem for Tarrus Riley and Etana

Saturday, 11th August 2012 - When Shaggy came to the country, word on the street had it that his phone had been stolen on Kenyan soil. The same rumors resurfaced yesterday, the culprit this time round being reggae artist Tarrus Riley.
However the event’s organizers halted the rumors. They claimed that this was a tactic by haters to make the show fail. Kriss Darlin one of the hosts of the show said that this were malicious people who are out to ensure the show hits a slug. He confirmed that Riley’s I phone was still intact.
Female artist Etana who is also in the country had a rough time and at one time threatened that she wouldn’t perform. She wrote a tweet in Jamaican slang, “So my representative had hell dealing with this Kenya promoter and I may not be able to perform. Though I’m here. Crazy.Wah dis mi come buck up pan inna Kenya. Ever feel like your hands tied? Women always fight extra hard.”
Her fans pleaded with her to change her mind as she had come all the way.
She later on wrote, “I won’t disappoint my fans though, come too far and been ready too long! Kenya weh yuh say!”

4x400m relay: USA win fifth successive Olympic title

USA women take 4x400m gold

THE BBC REPORTS...

The United States won their fifth successive Olympic gold in the women's 4x400m.
Deedee Trotter, Allyson Felix, Francena McCorory and Sanya Richards-Ross finished more than three seconds ahead of nearest rivals Russia.
Jamaica beat off the challenge of Ukraine to take the bronze medal.
Great Britain, who included Perri Shakes-Drayton and indivindual 400m silver medallist Christine Ohuruogu in their line-up, finished fifth.
The victory for the USA gives Felix her third gold of the Games following her wins in the 200m and 4x100m relay.
USA were the fastest team in qualifying, finishing a second a head of nearest rivals Russia, and they continued their good form.
Victory never looked in doubt after the first changeover and the remaining trio edged further clear of the rest of the field.
Richards-Ross, who won gold in the individual 400m, then carried the baton home, as they finished just 1.8 seconds outside the world record. The top six teams all ran a season's best time on the night.

Analysis

"American women's relay is very strong right now. They were always going to be tough to beat. It was always going to be tough for Great Britain to get a medal. Sanya Richards-Ross is one of the greatest 400m runners of all time and now she is a double Olympic champion at these Olympics. The US women did a great job."
