March so far has been a great and fabulous month for events;
I must admit that as an events writer. But April looks big with two big
international acts set to rock Nairobi.
Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba; aka Koffi Olomide, will be
in Nairobi on April for the much awaited and publicized Luo Festival. Koffi confirmed
his attendance on Wednesday and he is expected to fly in accompanied with his
terrific band.
As Lingala and Benga fans await Koffi; well, dancehall
lovers too have something to smile about. This past week, Pepsi Brand
Ambassador to Jamaica, 28 year old Greg Spence aka Konshens; one of the greatest
dancehall acts of this time, has confirmed on his Facebook page that he will be
performing in Nairobi this month. The post went viral to the delight of his Kenyan
fans who follow him.
The dancehall hit-maker has been consistent throughout with
chart-topping tunes in near all the major riddims-his high all-time career
favorite season.
The event dubbed; “the Guinness Evolution Party”-in line
with the brand’s “new look, same old great taste” campaign; is scheduled for April
12th at the KICC-from 7pm.
The Konshens live event will feature great performances by
Jua Cali; Ken Wa Maria; Wyre; Habida; Mc: KRISS DARLIN and mix-master DJ Joe Mfalme.
Tickets you ask? Well; entry is ksh 500 and tickets will be
available at the gate and from the Guinness EVOLUTION Team at a bar near you.
Or better still; visit facebook.com/guinesskenya for a
chance to win tickets.
