Sat-22nd march 2014

As an events writer and blogger; what do you do when you have over three great events on your weekend diary? Well, that is what this past weekend had in store for me. March so far has been a fabulous month. Probably the stature of this month’s events prove the rest of the year will be even better and entertaining-exactly what we love about the #254 and Nairobi a s a whole.

Starting off at The Impala; the popular bi-monthly social outdoor and networking event, the 15th Heineken Mingle brought al the traffic to the Ngong’ Road grounds.
For fashion enthusiasts; here we met colourful urban Nairobians. Plenty of interactive games, networking and a mature crowd were all brought together by this event. Truth The Band made the night a cozy one- add to that al the sorts of instruments and their great voices.
The entertainment lineup that kept the crowd all night up on their feet included DJS crème; protégé; Nijo; Gichboy; Seanizelll and Mwai; presided over by hype MC Martin Kariuki.

From mingling and networking to one-mic standup comedy; and comedian Eric Omondi hosted The Naked Show at Carnivore Grounds.
This was one-of-a kind show backed by Safaricom, Mo sound and Standard Group amongst other sponsors. One and half hours of uninterrupted jokes; he chose to focus on ladies; the clubbing scene and everything trending; including a look alike Lupita Nyong’o Oscar moment.

Back to Ngong’ Road; and this year’s popular Kenya Kite Festival went down at Nairobi Polo Club. And yes, the picnic –themed event was all about kiting competitions and plenty of drinks and refreshments and great delicacies.

Electrafiques March Party was the mother of all. Kenya’s coolest DJ collective fusing electronic music with authentically African sounds did not disappoint. The third concert at The Carnivore grounds saw the Urban mixed crowd welcome DJ Cortega back from West Africa.

Kenya’s Beat Parade; backed by Electrafiques DJS and hosted by Hot 96 Coco D Rasta literally rocked the event and made it a night to remember.
