FINDING SPIRIT-R.I.P GOLDIE

Former Big Brother housemate, Goldie Harvey is dead. She reportedly passed on after she returned from a trip to the United States on Thursday night . According to Naija reports, the singer's best friend Denrele Edun was the last to be seen with her. Its reported that Goldie died in his arms at a hospital in Victoria Island. All efforts to reach Denrele Edun on his phone proved futile.

Goldie's Twitter handle and Facebook fan page however bear the confirmation that she has passed on as the message "It is with heavy heart that I have to inform you all that Goldie passed this night shortly after arriving Lagos from LA. May her soul rest in the eternal peace of the Lord – Admin!!" was posted around 11 pm on Thursday.

How do you move on after such a tragedy?

A couple of days back,my mentor,Mrs Cathy lost her sister and I went deep into my meditations for a message to encourage her.

Stephen and Anita had a daughter named Racheal.Racheal was brutally murdered and her body left and they wrote to Ramdas, who was their teacher and mentor. They said,HOW CAN WE,AFTER LOSING OUR DAUGHTER,FIND SPIRIT,BE INSPIRED AND HOW CAN WE FIND GOD IN EVENTS SUCH AS THIS?

And this is what Ramdas wrote to Stephen and Anita. One of the most beautiful letters I have ever read. This is what he said,

Dear Stephen and Anita,

Racheal finished her work on earth and left the stage in a manner that leaves those of us behind with a cry of agony in our hearts,as the fragile threat of our fate is dealt with so violently. Is anyone so strong to stay conscious in such teachings as you are receiving?Probably, very few!And even they would only have a whisper of equal enemity and peace amidst screaming trumpets of their rage, grief, horror and desolation.

I can not assuade your pain with any words, nor should I.For your pain is Racheal`s legacy to you.Not that she or I would inflict such pain by choice, but there it is and it must burn its purifying way to completion. For something in you dies when you bear the unbearable, and it is only in that night of sour that you are prepared to love as God loves. Now is the time to let your grief find expression,no false strength. Now is the time to sit quietly and speak to Racheal and thank her for being with you all this few years and encourage her to move on with whatever her work is,knowing that you`ll grow in compassion and wisdom from this experience.

In my heart I know that you and she will meet again and again, and recognise the many ways in which you`ve known each other and when you meet, you`ll know in a flash what now is not given for you to know, why this had to be the way it was.

Our rational minds can never understand what has happened, but our hearts,if we keep them open to God,will find their own intuitive way.Racheal came through you to do her work on earth which includes her manner of death. Now,her soul is free and the love that you shared with her is invulnerable to the winds of changing time and space.

In that deep love,include me.

Love! Love! Love! Love is in the air again as we approach that season again. I have asked many Kenyans to give me a list of the kind of movie that starts up the waterworks and makes them believe again. Just like true love, the perfect romance movie is hard to find.
Of course we have high standards- we want palpable chemistry between the stars, enormous odds for our lovers to overcome…and a devastating death scene never hurts.
From rom-coms to epic tearjerkers and everything in between. Here is a list of movies chosen by Kenyans that make them fall in love all over again. Do you agree? Send us your list to bukhungubukhanga@gmail.com and we will definitely give you a

1.       Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
2.      The notebook (2004)
3.      Jerry McGuire (1996)

8.     Pretty woman (1990)
9.      Dirty dancing (1987)
10.   Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

TO APPLY MAKE-UP ON HER OR NOT

Samira is a bubbly 6-year old who adores her mother very much. Every time she spots her mum before the mirror, she innocently creeps up for a fun experience and for a mother-daughter bonding session over facials and make-ups.
Like most mothers, Samira’s mum is always tempted to apply make-up on her which she often reluctantly does on several occasions especially when they are about to go out or have guests over. Her argument;
“It is just a simple eye-liner. It won’t hurt any bit, right?”
Wrong! Well according to Muthoni Njoba, a make-up specialist, failure to clean off any make-up very well is dangerous as make-up left on the skin can clog pores and cause premature aging.
As mothers, we forget that our skins are not always the same as our daughters or little children. That is why it is advisable for one to go to a professional make-up artist to advice on the best suitable make –up (foundation, concealer, powder, eye-shadow e.t.c) for your skin tone, skin type and features.
Factual research has shown that our skin starts aging after the age of 25; so mum do your child justice by withholding that make-up. Your child’s skin is very soft, tender and flawless at a young age and it would be a disgrace for a beautiful 10-year old girl looking like a 30-year old due to make-up.
Finally; as a mother and as a woman, I am sure one of your New Year resolution is dedicating yourself to a great skin care and embarking on the journey of using make-up to enhance your already beautiful features. While you undertake this treacherous journey of greatness and amazing look; tag along your girlfriends; sisters or better yet your young daughter. Encourage them to drink lots of water and eat fresh vegetables.
That is the best kept secret to a better health and flawless beautiful skin. The secret is out now ladies!

THE NEW GENERATION THAT WILL REVOLUTIONISE AFRICA

I read somewhere of how an attorney husband was always fond of saying;” when the fact are on your side; pound the facts. When the law is on your side; pound the law! When neither is on your side, pound the podium.”

The podium pounding is usually for our leaders when neither facts nor law is on their side. Since I am a patriot with charisma; I will pound on the facts.
Robbery is antisocial- a proven determination to break the law. But just so you think of the many men and women who are busy breaking or bending the law in all coasts of climes.

After all these; these so called man and women provide an alibi. Look for a copy of one of this daily. You’ll be shocked to find there a story of the government official who stole over Ksh. 7M cool. But that’s not new. Such stories make splash headlines all over our African continent. Stories of how people are making a difference in our poor slums only get a caption.
The government official was antisocial, but how many of his type do you know? And how many more go undetected? I say, if my avocation was antisocial, then thank God, I’m in good company. And that company consists of countries, transnational organizations, public servants, high and low men and women.

The only difference is that; while I’m prepared to pay the price for it all; the others are not.
It’s about time well- endowed and well-trained people took to it. They’ll bring to the profession a romantic benefit of the society.

No; I’m not mad! On the contrary, my heart is at peace. Time was when the running and ruining of African nations was in the hands of half-literate politicians. Today, well-endowed and better trained people have taken over the task, and look how well they are doing it.
