This past weekend on Father’s Day; June 15th,
the big boys brought out their fast toys and machines for the Superbike
Championship finals. For safety reasons, the busy Bunyala and Machakos roads
were again closed- and local access maintained. The audience had their spot to
enjoy and cheer on the fast bikers- cruising at crazy unbelievable speeds and
breaking all at once- all the stunts one can imagine!
The Nairobian newspaper sponsored event has
seen a great growth and following in terms of fans; spectators and more
participants.
The event has a great future- for this is the
first time it is being done in Africa- motorbike street racing and hence we
watch from a far; yet so near to this new trend.
