month (August); rapper Juliani set up
his pulpit on the streets when he performed at the Nai Ni Who finals as the KICC. Over the years, the Gospel rapper
has carved a niche as the artist known for spreading uplifting messages. When he
took to the stage, he recounted this trait during his hey days with the
underground outfit Ukoo Flani Mau Mau;
even as he accolade his home- “Dandara”,
as he calls it for Dandora; the place where in his own words Hip-Hop began!
His
album “Pulpit Kwa Street”, in short
does just that- he takes the gospel to the streets. His track Bahasha Ya Ocampo; which was a winner
with many; addresses the everyday evils that a man does; with a reference to
the realities of Kenya’s post-election violence.
His
high-voltage band and Deejay Sadic on the wheels of steel; Juliani delivers a
stellar performance from his top charting albums’ singles; His albums “Pages Za Bible”, “Exponential Potential” and
“Pulpit Kwa Street.”
He
digitalks on Friend Request to remind
the tech-savvy Facebook generation that Jesus Christ is still in charge; and
that He is patiently waiting for them to friend request him and come to him.
Juliani
speaks highly of the RGB- the Red –Green-Black Republic; evens as he flows
street tales flawlessly of his great nation’s colours- Kenya.
His
recent tune Utawala asks Kenyans not
to just sit back-showing a hidden reference to the state of Kenya politics.
Jua-Cali called him on stage to do their Si Siri hit song; before he gave a memorable
Finnish with Pages Za Bible.
The
event also saw live performances from Kidum
and Jua-Cali. Juliani message is
very clear. God runs this planet; so get his albums and say a prayer of thanks
and give your life to Him. Even non-Christians; his albums will rock you- trust
me!
