VERONICA WANJERI KARANJA ON M-NET’S CHANGES

c
omposer Les Brown once said: “if you want a thing bad enough, go out and fight for it; work day and night for it; give up your time, your peace and your sleep for it…”
If the above accolade could be said of one person, then to me that would be the tenacious actress Veronica Wanjeri Karanja.
Fast rewind: I met Wanjeri a couple of months ago during the UP Magazine’s Absolut Art event at Kuona Trust. Then I was part of the UP Street Team; a crew that does events with UP Magazine.

We chatted a bit even as she let me in on her jigger painting and art project that she was currently working on by then. We exchanged contacts and have been keeping in touch since then.
But recently, she opened up to me about her other hidden sleeves; not only is this multi-talented girl just an artist, but she is also an actress and a Human Rights activist with SCHORAH; a group under Amnesty International. Plus she also sings and she already has a single out!

She has appeared on the film “CHANGES” that aired on M-Net and was by Zebra Productions; under the directorship of Victor Gatonye. Veronica acts as a prostitute who lives a sad life and eventually gets caught by the police.

I enjoyed the tit-bits of her role on You-tube and I was proud of Kenyan productions like Zebra; that have contributed to the vibrant Kenyan film industry. The film features both seasoned faces like Fareed Kimani and Gaetano Kaggwa; coupled up by new faces-which just blows one away with the blend of talents and showcases.
To me; the future of Kenya’s Film industry looks bright; good and vibrant.
