MY MANIFESTO...

MANIFESTO:  A New Dawn Is About To Be Ushered.

SALUTATIONS:

Ladies and gentlemen I greet you! Thank you so much for joining us today for this moment of defining history which marks the presentation of visions and goals on paper, that, given the opportunity and cooperation, can be turned to reality.

INTRO:

I congratulate my fellow colleagues cum competitors, who have shown that indeed Daystar is built upon hard work and enterprise of its people. That is why I am ready to support and cooperate with any of them in case I am voted in.

I chose to vie for this post with an aim of bringing a new dawn to the status quo of the past leadership. A new leadership based on boldness and charisma but above all, one that is entirely engineered and driven by servant hood.

MY VISION:

To bring a new dawn in the sporting and recreation culture of Daystar, powered by soul power; a desire to win; engine up by servant leadership and grounded up by ideas, combined from my fellow students.

MY GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS:

a.       Popularize more fun and recreation indoor games like draughts and chess.

b.      Support and represent, to the relevant body, talented athlete students in terms of insurance support, sports scholarship e.t.c. days where students would go to sporting events in faraway towns and end up buying for themselves food and paying their accommodation are over.

c.       To establish Daystar as Talents Centre- nurture, grow and support new talent.

d.      Champion for more sporting opportunities and events especially for the Valley Road Campus students.

e.      Form a formidable cheering squad driven by fellow students.

f.        Use sports as a way to win new believers into the Christian faith in terms of trusting God for victories in prayer; organizing outreach sporting mission activities to the community, slums and children homes.

g.       Come up with other recreation events such as “Fanatics nights”, where sporting fans can have an evening to meet, share, chat and connect. Champion also the introduction of a “Jersey Day” either in the culture week or during the semester- where we can all don our teams’ jerseys and feel proud.

The Good Book declares that it takes two to agree for them to walk. Well, I am proposing to you an agreement to undertake this journey with me. A journey has challenges like fatigue and it is not definitely not a bed of roses.

“mpira ni dakika tisini. Na mpira bila shaka umedunda- Ni kura yako ndiyo itaidundisha hadi kimyani pale langoni.”

Thank you for inviting me to say a few words and share my thoughts with you. Thank you for gracing this baraza and making it a success.
