Nairobi’s nightlife is a menu of great lounge bars; amazing music; beautifully dressed women and men too and of course an amazing-memorable time.

 The Moi Avenue stretch has for long been an entertainment and fashion avenue- playing host to leading fashion stalls and top clubs. They say ‘Nairobi never sleeps’ and ‘it is party time all week.’

Well, there is a new entrant on Moi Avenue- a great nightspot to let your hair down and het your boys to enjoy a game on the big screens.

The club now comes into the relatively busy and competitive stretch where it is also to lavish Lounge and opposite Club Romuourz and Club Jazz. It seems party-hoppers are in for a great ‘three0-some”; if they get tired of one they can still just take a stroll and jump into the other.

The interior is pretty cool. It can take huge numbers and there are comfortable lounge couches and bar seats are well set to create enough dancing space.

With the best mix of music; special buffet and reasonably priced drinks; Club Sevens can be a first stopover this weekend and you cans share your experience with us!

The official launch is this Thursday night; 24^th April. Go ahead and check it!

NESS DE DIVA AT #TUJUANE

This past week, I was glad to catch up with a long lost pal- Nessa or Ness de Diva on #TUJUANE.

Well, I met Ness through Calvo Mistari. I was part of the production team for her video: “si ndwele”. I remember as we drove to Karen from south-c; Calvo said something I will never forget “Ness has great vocals and she will blow up big. I now want to mentor her and just guide her;” it almost sounded that way- if I remember pretty well.

Well, she had a great and real date on #TUJUANE. And a memorable one too! Call me up some time NESS... CHEERS!

2 Sundays ago; Tusker Twende Kazi held a viewing party at the carnivore’s Simba Saloon for the fans of Tusker Twende Kazi; who could not make it for the live recording in London or who did not feel like watching the experience on the comfort of the sitting room.

There was little clarification on why so much money was spent by a corporate body to take a single bottle to London. The “competition itself turned out to be a race after all, since there was no winner save for Humphrey Khayange.”

KONSHENS AT KICC- THE GUINESS EVOLUTION PARTY RECAP

Concerts all over the city- all the time. That is what it feels like nowadays. On Saturday, Konshens for the second time literally brought the heavens down on the fans in a tight show.

Two years after he performed at the Sepetuka Music Festival as an emerging artiste; Konshens was back. Many wanted to go but only a few mastered the courage to. This was mostly because VIP-section ‘had not been arranged for” and tickets sold at sh 500. There was a Golden Circle at the concert;; however, and the atmosphere was phenomenal. The show had only two divas performing; yet getting them on stage was proving to be a task.

Victoria Kimani; the first act of the night, did not perform until much later. It would have helped a lot if her performance had matched her outfit- which was smokin’ by the way.

Habida’s performance was, ironically, very well received in its first hals; which was lived up with club hits such as ‘lights up” and ‘girls night out”. Also favorites to the crowd were her Band Habida dancers; who had all sorts of cat calls and cheers thrown their way.

Jua Cali was the clear crowd favorite among the local artistes and gave the crowd his absolute best.

Konshens was received with delirium when he finally made it on stage. It was a  grab-all dance-all affair and he even took pictures and videos of the adoring crowd for his Instagram page. Before leaving, he introduced dancehall entrant star Javan, claiming the artiste would be big by December.

Konshens is very reserved and avoided the throngs of groupies who showed up at his numerous radio and television appearances, press conferences and club appearances before the KICC show. And after he drove a few people crazy with his performance, exit from the venue proved the difficult task as the security perimeter went only as far a the City Hall roundabout.

Gerald and I had to “rescue” a group of ladies who were being accosted by a group of young men that morning.

Last week, I log onto my Facebook and a post has been tagged by TV-host and Sauti Sol’s publicist; Anyiko Owoko. The post read in part that Sauti Sol had been nominated for the MTV-MAMAS and there was need to rally a legion of votes.

Well the Kenyan list of nomination includes:

The video is set in the cold kaptagat forest in the Rift Valley, and it was shot for a whole night. At some point, rain caught up with the shoot. The video for a song that the audio came out last year is now finally out.

His music, has over the years, been a representation of many years of hard work, fortitude and fervor. This is what has pushed daddy Owen to be where he is today. 

This video is a definite chart-topping hit.

ERIC OMONDI’S UNTAMED TOUR GOES TO USA

This year seem big for Kenya’s comedian Eric omondi. He rolled out a historic one-of-a-kind stand-up comedy show. Dubbed “The Naked Show”; the one mic- stand went down at The Carnivore.

And now, the comedian is taking the tour globally with The Untamed Tour heading to the United States of America; where he is scheduled to perform on a tour of different states.
