NAIROBI’Z BLOGAZINE NOW BECOMES JUICED TODAY…

#EDITORIAL

MY NOTE: This should be like and Editor’s Note. So, Nairobi’z Blogazine has recently upgraded into a more engaging website blog called Juiced Today (http://www.juiced.today) and; there we take our wealth of experience in journalism, blogging and editing. This is our last post on this blog and an open invitation to you; and with it, comes my open appreciation too. And open appreciation to Nairobi and all of you who have been a part of this journey with me…that still continues; but now in a new bus…

In many ways; definitely technology is making us better; faster and stronger. Today we have more information, more communication; more art being produced- reaching ever increasing numbers of people.
Writing from Nairobi; I see that daily. I see a city in motion and that is why I started Nairobi’z Blogazine. To shed a light on an inspirational city; full of people who strive every day to bring colour and joy to their surroundings.

The writer at a past event.

My love affair with Nairobi goes deep. It goes high like the KICC building that overlooks those who first visit the city under the sun; as if to remind them that wherever you come from; Nairobi holds the promise-with creativity, hard work, perseverance and vision, it is possible to achieve your dreams.

And so; even as we make the switch to Juiced Today; we still strive to be gatekeepers to the spotlight on the best and brightest of what Nairobi has to offer.

So join us once again and let us keep the love and support going; at a time when Nairobi; more than ever; is in need of our declarations of heartfelt love and support.

This is the new link>>http://www.juiced.today; that is on a countdown to go live soon!!!

SKYLUX LOUNGE NAIROBI: 3 YEARS ON- THIS IS THE ANNIVERSARY

#NAI NIGHTS

August last year (2013) saw popular night club and hangout joint, Skylux Lounge and Bar in Westlands, Nairobi, hosts its third-anniversary party. The special night featured plenty of surprises for party goers and great entertainment by professional Sky dancers, Ace Card entertainment and DJS Slick, Stretch, N-Ruff, Mobi, Kaffi, Hypnotiq; all were on the decks.

Skylux is an over-21 club located on the second-floor of Soin Arcade Mall. The ambiance accommodates the needs of the sexy and trend-conscious party animals that want to enjoy V.I.P-luxurious services, cool mixes by its resident deejays and have a good party.
Revelers have a chance to enjoy the latest hip hop mixes, raga and riddim hits, local club-bangers and a safe haven for popular parties such as Naira Night, Kings and Queens, Uptown Thursdays and Freaky Fridays.

The clubs’ calendar of events is run by the Ace Card Entertainment franchise. The crowd is a mature one and the club has hosted several incredible showbiz parties.

#NAINIGHTS…

LUOS VS. LUHYAS; WHO HAS THE BRAGGING RIGHTS?

#BRAGGING RIGHTS

When Gor Mahia Football Club locks horns with Ingwe; it is never about chasing a piece of inflated leather. The bigger picture is always the reserve for the bragging rights. Well, now, the feud is going international.

The land of Mulembe says forget the hot policeman Linda Okello; we have Vera Sidika and her ample behind is not fake. Our daughters, bred on ingokho and fried insects, smite the sons of Nyanza.

And now the boy who is the talk of town- this cousin of mine, Divock Okoth Origi. The first “Kenyan”, a Luo, who also is a Belgian, to play in the World Cup and even score. At 19, he also became Belgium’s youngest ever World Cup goal scorer- great feat there!
But we the sons of Mulembe also gave you a warrior- Victor Wanyama, the first Kenyan, a Luhya, to play in the English Premier League.

The looming war goes on as Luos claim, “we gave you the first Oscar; the first American Football player and everything ‘first’ is associated with us!”
The battle continues! Take your side…
